Manu is a lawyer in the EU, Competition & Trade team. His experience encompasses merger control, businesses’ market conduct including cartels and also sector enquiries. He has significant experience advising on complex transactions including those which involved the analysis of local markets and resulted in a clearance decision with remedies. He has a well-rounded exposure to the different aspects of EU & UK competition law such as distribution arrangements in the luxury industry, licensing arrangements in the pharmaceutical industry, automotive cartels, joint purchasing/selling arrangements in the chemicals industry, abuse of dominance in the transport and technology sectors etc. He has a focus on the technology and life sciences sectors.
He has also assisted several Indian corporations on issues relating to corporate, FCPA, intellectual property and employment working together with colleagues from other offices and practice areas.
Development of a global merger control strategy, navigating complexities of the different merger control regimes and project management of the merger notification processes.
Review of agreements to identify competition law concerns including exchange of information, exclusive and selective distribution, resale price maintenance (RPM), restrictions on internet sales etc.
Investigations about market conduct.
Design and implementation of compliance programs.
Manu is a dual qualified lawyer (UK/India*) and has worked at leading international law firms in Brussels and London. He has also practiced law in India. He has a specialized LL.M degree in competition law from King’s college, London and is fluent in English, Hindi and Malayalam.
