Practice Area

Karla focuses her practice on employment matters. She has over 20 years extensive experience in the employment-, international mobility- and social security law aspects of international  employment, transfer of personnel and other social law issues of M&A.  She assists clients with cross-border and domestic transactions, harmonization of employee status, consultation of employee representatives and individual and collective dismissals and employment termination issues.

Karla has a particular expertise in employment and social security law compliance and litigation, including wellbeing, harassment, discrimination and health and safety issues.

Additional Info

Karla obtained her Masters in Law in 1992 at the KULeuven.

She was admitted to the Brussels bar in 1992 and prior to joining EY Law, Karla spent twelve years at another renowned International law firm having already spent 10 years with a leading Belgian law firm and 5 years at various  Brussels’ business law firms before that. Karla heads the department of Employment & Labor Law of EY Law in Belgium since October 2019.

Karla is fluent trilingual French, Dutch and English, and has a working knowledge of German and Spanish.
