Education

Aurélie obtained her Master’s Degree in Law at the University of Ghent (2019 – cum laude). She also obtained an LL.M in Competition Law at King’s College London (2020 - merit). As part of the Erasmus and overseas exchange program at the University of Ghent, she attended the University of Miami, School of Law in Miami, FL (2018) where she focused on US Corporate and Commercial Law, within the frame of the Business of Innovation, Law and Technology Concentration (BILT Track).

Practice areas

Aurélie’s practice areas include:

  • General questions of EU Law
  • Multi-jurisdictional merger control analysis and notification
  • Multi-jurisdictional FDI analysis and notification
  • Advice on antitrust matters, such as horizontal and vertical agreements
  • Designing antitrust compliance training programmes, in particular for trade associations
  • State Aid matters

Additional info

Aurélie is a member of the Dutch speaking Brussels bar since 2020 and joined EY Law the same year. She worked in both Corporate and EU, Competition and Trade law.

She is also a former Blue Book trainee (October 2021 – February 2022) at DG Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW – European Commission), in the office of the Director-General Kerstin Jorna, where she gained valuable experience about the EU internal market, industry and supply chains, including dependencies and shortages.

After her traineeship, Aurélie returned to EY Law to focus on EU, Competition and Trade law matters.

She is fluent in Dutch (Native), English (Full Professional Proficiency), French (Professional Working Proficiency) and German (Limited Working Proficiency).
