New labour Deal
On February 14, 2022, the Belgian Federal Government reached a political agreement on the reform of the Belgian labour market which will surely have an impact on doing business in Belgium.
On May 17, 2022 the national social partners have given their advice on the political agreement (including some crucial concerns regarding the envisaged changes). Taking into account these concerns, the Belgian Federal Government amended the initial agreement and a final governmental agreement was reached on June 17, 2022. The next step is that this agreement shall be presented in the Chamber of Representatives. It is to be expected that the new measures will be implemented into legislation and/or national collective bargaining agreements in the coming weeks or months. We will continue to monitor any developments in this regard and we will keep you informed as soon as the measures are implemented.
