How we try to make social impact
At EY Law Belgium, we strongly believe that we have a responsibility to make a positive impact on society. For several years, EY Law has been actively supporting various charitable organizations and initiatives that align with EY Law’s values. We believe that by investing in these initiatives, we can help create opportunities and improve the quality of life for people across the world.
Casa Hogar
EY Law supported Casa Hogar, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a secure environment for orphaned and street children in Mexico. The organization's mission is to provide children in need with access to education and the support they need to thrive in their studies. The initiative addresses the immediate needs of these children while also empowering them to overcome poverty and build a better future for themselves.
Inflatable Cinema by J.E.F.
EY Law supported an initiative called ‘Inflatable Cinema’ that aims to bring screenings of films to young audiences who may not have easy access to this experience. The project is led by J.E.F. in collaboration with CINEKID.
By creating an inflatable cinema that can be set up in different underprivileged neighborhoods, the project offers children the chance to explore different films, themes, and cultures, while also fostering their creativity and critical thinking skills.
Gear Up Medical
With the global challenge of the Covid-19 pandemic, healthcare systems around the world persistently combatted the crisis while dealing with shortages of medical supplies. In this endeavor, Gear Up Medical stood as a beacon of support, offering significant contributions to confront these demanding circumstances.
The principal goal of Gear Up Medical revolved around their Ventilator Project. The project aimed to address the dire need for affordable yet reliable ventilators across hospitals around the world, particularly in regions most severely affected by the pandemic.
Road to Glory
Many disadvantaged young people face significant barriers when it comes to accessing certain opportunities and programs. Road to Glory (R2G) is a non-profit organization that focuses on encouraging underprivileged young people to get involved in intensive kickboxing.
Unlike many other initiatives that focus on academic or professional development, R2G emphasizes the values of discipline, respect, and community building that are central to martial arts. By providing coaching, moral support, and an innovative rewards program that motivates and incentivizes participation, R2G offers a unique opportunity for disadvantaged young people to engage in a sport that can build confidence, self-esteem, and valuable life skills.
Belgian Lawyers for Africa
We supported Belgian Lawyers for Africa - It's Legal to Care, a non-profit organization founded by Brussels-based lawyers dedicated to combat issues within the nexus of water scarcity and development of agriculture programs.
Our partnership ensured a construction of a new water well in Zambia expected to provide approximately 1,000 individuals with safe drinking water over the next 20 years.
By taking this landmark initiative, we ensured the fulfillment of a basic human right, access to clean and safe water, in regions most affected by water scarcity.
